AUBURN — All the ingredients will come together today for the opening of Bake My Day at 650 N. Grandstaff Drive on Auburn’s west side.
“It seems to be clicking very well. Everybody has their own strengths,” said Abby Scoville, manager of the new bakery. “There’s been a lot of work that’s gone into this, and it’s worked out absolutely perfectly, and now it’s open.”
Amy Wasnich, owns the shop, and in addition to Scoville, the staff includes Wasnich’s sister, Sarah Hornett, who designed the store’s logo, sign and artwork.
“I’ve been cooking or baking since I was very little — probably 5,” Wasnich said. “I am self- and mom-taught.” “When God give you a talent, you use it,” Scoville said.
The bakery will create cakes, cupcakes, cookies, muffins, bagels and breads, including gluten-free items. Customers will find dozens of glass canning jars filled with vegetables, fruits, soups, salsa and spaghetti sauce. The shop also will sell freezer meals.
Even if it’s not on the menu, they’ll make it, Wasnich emphasized.
She said, “We want to help the single moms or the families that have three jobs and kids” by providing quick, nutritious meals.
