E-Collar Technology, Inc. Bringing Jobs to Garrett
Garrett, Ind. (August/September 2011) - E-Collar Technologies, Inc. plans to manufacture an updated version of an electronic dog collar that owner Greg VanCuren helped create more than 20 years ago.
He selected the original 66,000 sq. ft. facility that occupied  the former Innotek Company he helped launch in 1995 at 2120 Forrest Park Drive, located in the Garrett Industrial Park.   The building has been vacant for approximately five years.

Product components are currently being assembled in South Korea and plans are to ultimately move the complete operation to the Garrett facility.  The updated process  works on the same principle as the original electronic dog collar but will include a variable stimulus level technique that makes it entirely wireless so that underground  boundary wiring is no longer necessary.

Mr. VanCuren plans to hire up to 175 employees over a five year period and the company has received approval for a 10-year tax abatement in a unanimous vote on August 16  by the Garrett Common Council following  presentations  by Mr. VanCuren and  Ms. Kim Westrick, Sales Manager, who displayed samples of the company products.
